The Alcoholic Anonymous program was conceived in the 20th century. The first 100 members collectively wrote a book called Alcoholic Anonymous. The AA book reflects the understanding of a limited segment of society from the 20th century. The Rainbow Group's reading of Chapter 5 from the AA book is adapted for the 21st century. The goal of our adaptation is to remove influence for any one spiritual way so that each person is free to adopt the spiritual principles of the AA program in a way that makes sense to them.
